Contemporary

 

Come and try this style made popular by the TV Show "So You Think You Can Dance".  Contemporary dance is great for strength, flexibility and movement.  Exploration of space, body awareness and musicality is the premise of this class.  The most important element of Contemporary Dance for this class is emotions and commitment to the movement.  Personal style and improvisation of movement is highly encouraged.  Contemporary dance is great for beginners because it works with the natural alignment of the body.  (Maximum 12 people per class)

 

Progressive Open Level - What does this mean? Open Level means new beginners or people with some Contemporary dance experience will find this class suitable.  The instructor will teach to the majority of the class skill level while advancing the students each week.

 

What to Wear: Fitted, comfortable clothing.  This style can be danced barefoot or in foot gloves.
